RWC2019 Japan Travel Planning for Wallabies Supporters

Many Australian Wallabies Rugby supporters already have their tickets to attend the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2019 being held in Japan.  For each team the first round pool matches are spread out across different venues across Japan over a three week period, between 20 September to 13 October 2019.

The teams who come first or second in their pool then move onto the Qualifying Finals, which will be held on the weekends of 19-20 and 26-27 October. The Bronze, Silver and Gold medal finals will be held over the weekend of 1-2 November 2019.

With each match being held in different locations and dates, there are great opportunities to plan your visit to Japan to include many different cultural activities and experiences.  However, as it will be peak time it is important to pre-book activities to ensure that you do not miss out.

We have partnered with Klook, a major online travel agency who specialise in Japan travel (as well as many other countries!) to help you plan your trip and get your bookings locked in.

If the Wallabies get into the finals, you will need to plan to travel back to Oita and if they are successful you will then need to return to Tokyo or Yokohama.

The same previous tips would still be true, you will have 8 days before the next match so you could choose to travel either on or off the main route.

A good off route option for this much time would be to travel from Shizuoka to Matsumoto, Nagano to see the snow monkeys, on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route to see the mountains, and then on to Kanazawa and Kyoto to rejoin the main route back to Oita.
