Why Travel?

We all have different reasons to travel, some relax, some explore, some escape. Often we don’t even know the reason; we just know that we have to go.

We all have different reasons to travel, some relax, some explore, some escape.   Often we don’t even know the reason; we just know that we have to go.  Personally, I believe that we mostly travel to enact transformation upon our lives.

The act of totally leaving our usual routine and heading off to unknown places and people refreshes us and gives us a chance to develop perspective on our lives.  New insight usually causes change to occur.  Perhaps you realize that your career is not heading in the direction you planned.  Or it is time to consider starting some charitable activity.

On every trip I have taken the moment when you gain this new insight varies.  In some cases it is within a few days, sometimes it is when you are close to the end of your vacation and thoughts of home arise.  Often it is a special moment when everything just clicks.

How you act upon your new insight varies.  Some people make a total life change, others make none.  Many change the course of their lives in more subtle ways.  It is totally your choice to both open your mind to receive new self-awareness and then to take action upon it.
